Mr Richard Kjar is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Wangaratta, Victoria. He works in both public and private hospital systems, providing general orthopaedic surgical services with a focus on lower limb problems. He has considerable experience in trauma and fracture management, arthroscopy, sports injuries and joint replacement surgery.

 

Mr Kjar consults and operates regularly in Wangaratta and Yarrawonga.

 

After gaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007, he undertook further training in complex hip and knee replacement surgery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, under the tutelage of Dr Michael Dunbar. In 2010 Mr Kjar became a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

 

Combining his overseas experience with his local training, Mr Kjar continues to maintain his skills at the forefront of modern orthopaedic care through regular education and training. He aims to provide high quality surgical treatment, coupled with genuine care and concern for his patients.

 

Mr Kjar is married with two children. He is a keen outdoorsman, with interests in farming, mountain biking, white-water kayaking and telemark skiing.
